TATOR TOTS IN PARADISE

SOMETIMES PARADISE IS A LOT CLOSER THAN WE THINK. AS IN AROUND THE CORNER AT VELVET TACO IN DALLAS. 

This place has the most decadent dish I've come across in awhile: Crisp Tots & Local Egg with herbed goat cheese, smoked cheddar, basil crema and, bacon. Yes, bacon!  

Eat it alone at your own risk (because you won't be able to put the spork down) or share it with others. But don't miss out on this tator tot goodness. It's quite possibly the best starch product you'll ever have in your life. 

The goodness doesn't stop there on Taco Tuesday or any other day for the matter.

The brisket taco wrapped in a cheesy flour tortilla is to die for. Sure, it might have you wiping a little grease off your chin, but it's worth the effort. This handheld gem was so popular as a special taco of the week the fine folks running this joint made it a permanent menu addition. I also never leave without having the Picnic Chicken, otherwise known as #3.5. My newest favorite is #6, which is pure Falafel goodness wrapped in lettuce. 

Do yourself another favor and order a side of corn. You won't regret it. Wash it all down with a Margarita.
